Back in Ephesus

Fabulous place wonderful history.
The view over the gymnasium (foreground), and the ancient stadium behind. This is where Paul, John and Luke preached to the people of Ephesus.
The remains of the church of Mary. She and John lived just up the hill, I have put their house in an earlier post.
The library of Celsus.
Looking down the main street of Ephesus.  The road is paved with marble, and there are shops either side.
The terrace houses of Ephesus. Ephesus has the world's second most significant ruins after Pompeii. These ruins are only 15% uncovered due to earthquakes in 1100 A. D. and 1300 A. D.
It covers the period 500 B.C. to 500 A.D.
There was Greek God's,  early Christians
and Romans, including Hadrian and then later Alexandra the great.
The view up the street in modern day Kasadusi (near Ephesus), you can just see the statue of Atuturk,  and a tiny bit of our Ship. Internet on the ship is eyewateringly expensive,  $ US 69 per day. (Satellite). So I pick my times to connect.
